The protection of personal data when visiting our website, StratKITs Sustainable Public Meal Toolkit, is a special concern to us. We take the protection of the private sphere of the users of our informational offerings on the internet very seriously. For this reason, at this juncture, we shall provide you with information regarding what data are collected and how these data are used.

For the collection, processing and usage of personal data, the German data protection guidelines and the guidelines of the European Union on data protection shall be prevailing.

1. Object of the Data Protection

The object of the data protection shall be personal data, i.e. all information which refers to an identified or identifiable natural person. This shall include, for example, data like name, postal address, e-mail address or telephone number, but also (where applicable) usage data such as your IP address or content data.

2. Logging

During each access by a user of one of the pages of the Sustainable Public Meal Toolkit and each retrieval of a file, data shall be automatically stored in a log file. This log file may contain data with the following content:

  • IP address of the requesting computer,
  • Name of the requested file or website,
  • Date and time of day of the inquiry,
  • Access methods/functions requested by the requesting computer,
  • Access status of the web server (file transferred, file not found, command not executed, etc.) as well as
  • the URL from which the file was requested/the requested function was affected,
  • Operating system and browser model and/or browser settings.

These log files are used for technical reasons to increase the stability, functionality, and security of our website. They are not used for analytics.

3. Usage of Cookies

3.1 We shall work with cookies in order to optimise the website’s offerings. Cookies are small text files which a website like the Sustainable Public Meal Toolkit website places on the computer of a website visitor which can thus be stored locally.
3.2 You can prevent the installation of cookies by correspondingly adjusting the settings in the browser software (to be found in "private mode" - under “settings” with most browsers). However, it should nonetheless be pointed out that, in this case, you may not be able to comprehensively use all functions of the website. Furthermore, you can delete any cookies that have already been placed (likewise to be found under “settings” in the browser).

4. Analysis of website access data

In order to optimise the website’s offerings and to improve the pages continuously, we apply Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (https://www.google.de/intl/de/about/) (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; in the following „Google“). Google is certified under the Privacy-Shield-Framework (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active).

Google Analytics uses cookies (see point 3). We DO NOT apply the technical possibility provided by Google Analytics to analyse user behaviour across devices (cross-device tracking by User–IP). Under no circumstances, your IP-address will be merged with other data of Google. The IP addresses are anonymised so that they cannot be allocated to other data. The data which Google Analytics collects, are deleted automatically after 14 months.

You can prevent Google from using your data by setting the “Tracking Cookies” to inactive in the Cookie Settings of this website.

This website applies the Google Tag Manager. Google Tag Manager is a tool to help marketers manage tags of their websites. The tool itself which implements the tags is a domaig without cookies. The tool triggers other tags which might collect data. Google Tag Manager does not use these data. If the user deactivates the domain and/or cookies, the deactivation applies to all tracking-tags which are implemented by Google Tag Manager.

5. Rights of Information, Correction, Deletion, Portability, Revocation and Complaint

In accordance with the EU GDPR, you have the following rights on your data:

  • The right to be informed (GDPR § 15)
  • The right to rectification (GDPR § 16)
  • The right to erasure or right to be forgotten (GDPR § 17)
  • The right to restrict processing (GDPR § 18)
  • The right to data portability (GDPR § 20)
  • The right to object (GDPR § 21)
  • The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (GDPR § 77).
  • You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time in the future with no adverse consequences. Your data will then be anonymized or deleted immediately in accordance with your withdrawal declaration.

Automated decision-making shall not be utilised here.

7. Usage of Social Media Plug-Ins

7.1 Social-Share-Plugins

This website does not integrate Social-Share-Plugins from Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc. but is using their Share-Link-Functions as standard Web Links. No external Scripts are embedded and there is no data transfer to the external domain until the user follows the links.

7.2 Embedded YouTube Videos

This website is using videos from YouTube. We are using the "privacy-enhanced mode" for embedding. Our legitimate interest lies in improving the quality of our website. The privacy-enhanced mode prevents YouTube from storing cookies when the video is initially embedded. Cookies will only be stored when the user plays the video. YouTube claims it "won't store information about visitors on your website unless they play the video". As soon as you access any of our webpages on which a YouTube video is embedded a connection to the YouTube server is established, to display the Preview Image and the Video controls. YouTube might record and process at a minimum your IP address, the date and time the video was displayed, as well as the website you visited.

This data privacy policy follows the result exploitation and data protection principles laid out in the StratKIT consortium agreement. It is in accordance with the data protection regulations and ethics standards required by the EC.
